This will be an informative session that will show how using data, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service identified the need to address Adult Firesetting in Greater Manchester. We will share how we researched and consulted with subject matter experts, mental health professional, academics, and other Fire & Rescue services to develop what we believe is an innovative programme that is the first of its kind globally. We will discuss the importance of data and how we used it to identify the number and cost of deliberate fires in the UK. The Atlas Project is an intervention that has been developed by GMFRS in collaboration with Greater Manchester Probation Service. It has been created in response to an identified need to support and educate adults who have been involved and/or engaged in firesetting behaviours.
